Air Bagan, Air Kanbawza, Asian Wings, Air Mandalay and Yangon Airways are privately operated airlines flying throughout Myanmar. There is a 20-Kilo limit for baggage per person and excess baggage fees may be charged. We suggest you to leave items not needed in Yangon and collect them upon your return.
Air Bagan is dedicated to provide customer oriented services to both cabin and ground operations. Air Bagan fleet consists of two Fokker 100 Jet, two ATR 72 and two ATR 42 turbo-prop aircrafts. In addition to regular flights to Nay Pyi Taw, Bagan, Mandalay, Heho (Inle Lake), Myeik and Dawei, Air Bagan is operating code-share flights to Tachileik, Kyaing Tong, Lashio, Myitkyina, Putao, Kalay, Monywa, Homalin, Kyaukpyu, Sittwe, Pathein, Thandwe and Bhamo with Asian Wings. Air Bagan is also extending international services with scheduled flights to Chaing Mai using Fokker 100 aircraft.
Air Kanbawza Ltd., also known as AIR KBZ, was established in June 2010 with the objective to cater the growing demands of domestic air travel in Myanmar. Taking off her very first commercial flight on 2nd April 2011, to this date AIR KBZ is operating with three ATR 72-500 aircrafts to the destinations consisting of Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Nyaung U, Mandalay, Heho, Myeik, Tachileik, Myitkyina, Kalay, Dawei, Kawthaung, Lashio and Kyaing Tong altogether. With the support of the valued customers and dedicated employees, AIR KBZ aims to have more than 20 destinations in the near future, covering all the commercial centers of Myanmar.
Asian Wings Airways was incorporated since 17 September, 2010, as a private airline in Myanmar and successfully inaugurated on 27 January, 2011. Asian Wings currently offers regular flights to the major tourist and commercial destinations in Myanmar: Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan, Heho, Myeik, Dawei and Kawthaung. With effective from 15th of October 2011, Asian Wings is also operating code-share flights to Tachileik, Kyaing Tong, Lashio, Myitkyina, Putao, Kalay, Monywa, Homalin, Kyaukpyu, Sittwe, Pathein, Thandwe and Bhamo with Air Bagan. In the very near future, Asian Wings Airways is planning to expend its wings to regional destinations through scheduled flights as well as chartered ones. Asian Wings is currently operating with two ATR 72-500s and is committed to establish a culture of service excellence through endeavors towards customers' comfort, safety, reliability and appreciation at all intervals.
Air Mandalay Limited, the first regional joint venture airline in Myanmar, comprises of two ATR 72-212s and one ATR 42-320. Air Mandalay is the only airline in Myanmar with the approval from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and both local and foreign pilots are also trained at Avions de Transport Regional's (ATR) training facilities. Selection and training of the cabin crew is also aimed at providing high levels of service consistent with Myanmar's gentle traditions. Air Mandalay currently operates to nine destinations from Yangon to: Bagan, Mandalay, Heho, Thandwe, Sittwe, Tachileik, Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung and also offers air chartered services to destinations both within the country and regionally.
Yangon Airways was established in October 1996 as one of the domestic airlines of the Union of Myanmar. Yangon Airways has been reinstated its Aircraft Operating Certificate after almost a year of suspension by the Department of Civil Aviation and resuming its regular flights since October 16, 2011 to Bagan, Mandalay, Heho, Kyaing Tong, Tachileik, Lashio and chartered flights to Dawei, Myeik, Kawthaung from main hub at Yangon International airport. Yangon Airways has always maintained a reputation for offering a high quality of service and providing safe, clean, on-time air transportation with luggage handling service, in a professional and consistent manner. Yangon Airways operates two ATR 72-210s (Turbo prop aircraft) which has ushered in a new era in the field of civil air transportation.
